The Aboriginal Legal Service of NSW and ACT is looking to fill the position of Field Officer Prisoner Throughcare.

Prisoner Throughcare is funded to intensely focus on a small number of sentenced prisoners at identified locations with the primary objective of overcoming a return to gaol.
The Field Officers are responsible for the Case Management of Prisoner Throughcare clients by ensuring appropriate Case Management plans are developed, implemented and monitored in line with the Attorney-General Department’s policy on Throughcare of Prisoners.

The Prisoner Throughcare Field Officer will work with recently released prisoners to assist them to ‘get back on track’. The Prisoner Throughcare Field Officer will liaise with local Aboriginal organisations and communities, including local representative groups to link Aboriginal clients, organisations and communities. The Field Officer will provide high quality support to clients, in accordance with the ALS policies, procedures and guidelines; to contribute to the implementation of the Aboriginal Legal Service’s strategic plan to deliver high quality legal services to Aboriginal clients.
A work-plan for the position will be developed and will be reviewed regularly.
