Grant aid
The Center for Child & Family Services in Hampton recently received a grant for a re-entry program for men and women being released from jail, according to a news release.
The Fresh Start Re-entry program grant will provide services to men and women incarcerated at the Newport News, Hampton and Virginia Peninsula Regional correctional facilities, according to the release. Services will include pre- and post-release support groups, mentoring from a supportive adult, job readiness and employment connections to offender friendly employers, mental-health counseling, case management services to address any barriers to success and family reunification groups.
All services are free.
The two-year grant from the Office of Justice Second Chance Act Adult Mentoring Grants to Nonprofit Organizations is expected to serve 600 re-entry men and women.
